Strange that, for the first time for over 20 years I'm taking the car this year. There was so much we couldn't do last year with all the bike kit we're going back on four wheels.

Yes, come Sept Scotland will be so much hassle, what with border controls, customs, security, passport required, and with dodgy weather who would want to go there?
What a load of tosh!
Anyone who believes any of that is mentally unbalanced!

All will be made very welcome to my country! Tourism is a large part of Scotland's economy and will continue to be promoted. There are no border controls entering Ireland, Scotland will be the same.
I took a long weekend on Skye in November last year, yes by motor not bike and loved it! So much to see, if you dress accordingly and enjoy natural beauty, the Scottish highlands can be stunning and well worth a visit, not only by bike!

That said, I do love France!

Don't encourage them Jim, it'll be like a race track up here shortly :thumbsupanim:

I have noticed a lot more bikes up here than last year, maybe due to where I'm working, but a noticable difference.

I've been on the A9 and A82 over the last few weeks and agree there's more bikes this yr, also the ferry from Holland had some amount of bikes on it when we returned from Europe, mainly Germans heading for Scotland! At least they keep the police's eyes off me for a change! ;)
Shame weatherwise this weekend, been shite here in Morayshire with rain and cloud today.

Ah yes! Both countries have a talent for distilling :thumbsupanim:

Off to France in a few days to carry out some testing of bread, cheese, and wine; I'll be bringing back some samples to join the various malts currently vying for my attention

I'm sampling a 20yr old cask strength Aberlour single malt tonight, weathers been stunning all week up here in the Highlands, this week, (while on holiday),,,, I'd rather be in Scotland!
Although, that said, we're heading over the border to the north of England on Friday, hope the weather holds!
