Hello folks

My name is Dave and I live nearby Kenmare Co Kerry just a quick hello. I used to be active on a few forums many years ago and like a lot of people drift away for various reasons.

Previously into big tourers but, covering less miles recent years tend to ride classic trailies XRV750 & DR800 and enduro WR250F & CRF450L. I find the enduros much more manageable weight wise and the suspension makes rough trails easier and safer.

Regards to all…..

Hi Dave,

welcome, what a beautiful place you live in........on my to do list......been there in a car many years ago but always wanted to go back on the bike.:)
I am sure some of the other youngsters on this forum will be along soon to say hello.......

Thanks for the greeting Don. I’m 58 but, feel 85 after 100 odd Kim’s about the Reeks (Ibeara Peninsula) Monday and chainsawing logs my arms & wrists are aching.

Anyway, it’s certainly traile country. Always busy with touring bikers Spring & Summer as a base for touring and exploring the Munster region.

Regards…

Welcome Dave in Kerry, you’re in a very popular age bracket. Perhaps a Bug Trailie National in your neck of the woods in the future.

Hello Stuart

Yeah, it seems to be that we are moving into the vintage class ourselves.

Occasionally I host a few tents in the garden at my place. There are two official campsites within 20kms, one hostel left in town and dozens of B&B even two 5* hotels if you’re loaded!

I’d planned a couple of weeks around this time to explore Brittany in depth as I’m usually passing through but, circumstances changed. If anyone is wandering nearby this summer give me a shout?

Regards….

Hello Dave in Kerry from Lutin (Tony in Bundoran).

I wouldn't encourage any of these maniacs to come over to Ireland. Well, at least not before informing the relevant authorities.....

Hi Dave. We’re not too far from you in Munster - just outside Drimoleague in West Cork to be precise. Have had to give up the bike for health reasons (AKA no longer able to pick it up or get it off the stand - have a few more years on me than you !) but used to ride a BMW F650 GS and beFore that a Suzuki VanVan (still miss that wee bike). My OH has a Yamaha MT07 lingering in the garage - maybe we will get over your way at some point in spring or summer next year. Agree the roads and scenery here are perfect for riding (the weather less so, maybe…
