lol.

ello,
I'm Liverpool based.
Not a lot of scope for green lane stuff round here. I normally go and play N Wales /M Wales when I get the chance. Been out with the TRF guy's N girls bloody good laugh. I have a couple of miles under it's belt. probably around 1500, but I only got the bike last May, so that's my excuse.

I caved and bought a KTM towards the end of last year but then got sucked into enduro and time card stuff.

I'm concentrating on using the tiger as i'm doing the Gibraltar express this year, I wanted to do the full event but funds and work get in the way.

I'm in as a solo for the Dakar, not sure how the organisers sort the team thing out.

saw your other post from today. looks a nice area to be able to get out and play in.

Which end of Wales are you?

Just looked at the prices and in all honesty I think the organisers are taking the urine, the money they are asking for a day ticket. Then if you look at the cost of camping there as well . Not that I'd bother camping on site, having seen it last year :(

The PD, year before last, cost only 50 euros including the camping and a free BBQ. A bargain compared to their Welsh bretherin!

Sorry, but if I do attend as an "observer" this year, it'll only be because I've got a ferry booked to travel further south shortly afterwards.

Eh ?

What happened here then, have I missed a post or something ?
Thought we were going down as a team and returning as a team ?

I don't relish the thought of coming all the way back up here on me tod with a potentially damaged bike and for that reason I'm out.
Just as well I didn't order the knobblies for the beast.

Sorry J

Hello Boys and girls January the 1st see's the entries open for the Taffy Dakar 2017 based in glorious South Wales. There are two routes. Route A for off road bunnies. Route B for on road and forest track. Road tyres will do. Or like me do them both.
...
I will be riding my GSA with Karro3's attatched.come and have a good iits a scream.
Look at the Taffy dakar web site for past events.
If I owned one of these I'd join ya!

Well, I'm looking for events to attend this year, I've not ruled this out as yet, last year was a bit of a disaster for me but this year will be better! I'll investigate further and let you know asap!

Well with the Taffy Dakar approaching I have fitted my 170/60R17 Karroo3 to the Fat Bird. What a fight. It was like trying to prize Vaders wallet open at a Bar.
When you look at the tyre its a serious Ditch digger, going to see how deep it will dig in to the ground next weekend. Its Mahoosive 170 profile its a Tractor tyre

Well guys We came 10th out of 61 enterents. We scored 28 points and the winners 36 points. Absolutly knackered. Took the MIGHTY GSA In places I never took my XR650R. The GSA does do an enduro training course and rivers, rocks very steep descends, deep long puddles and some stupidly steep acents. Pictures to follow to knackerd to type.

First I would like to say. If you have a big bike 600 up, no Enduros and love the challenge of riding off road, using map compass, stars or bribery get your name down for next years team event. My team is already booking holidays.
This years ride. The weather was stunning sun was out sky was blue and every puddle wanted too drown you.

I was first bike bike up the special stage at Lee Walters training area Red Bull Romanian Romantic 's training areas. The GSA Clawed its self up half a Klick of very loose slab rock covered in loose dirt and stone followed by my team mate James on his 660 Tenere. We then could not believe the drop off the top of the hill , no photos I am afraid to steep and rutted to risk a photo. [emoji90][emoji90]
