It's got two wheels, fuel injected, runs on petrol and has chain drive.

How's that?

No Chain :)

At a rough guess I would imagine at least 1 of it's 7 previous owners is on here.

Won't be in my hands until at least a week Saturday :(

Tock....

But what other Beemers are there?
:)

I'm away from home this weekend, and the only photo I have is on my home pc. Also don't want to jinx it so will post the pic when I've had a call to say it's ready.
Fully expecting at least one person to shout out and say they used to own it as its fully loaded and has an 'abr' sticker on the screen. 7 previous registered keepers so I'm half expecting some horror stories but to be fair it's a bike I've wanted for so long I won't be upset. :)

Tock, tick, tick this waiting game makes it seem even longer till I pick it up...

I think, even Chad could no resurrect it this time.

Years of abuse, virtually no maintenance.

Was always going to end in tears wasn't it :(

Unless the kraut proves me wrong ;)

Why is waiting so hard?

Phonecall from the dealer this morning, It's going to be 7-10 working days before I can collect :(

Waiting's a bastard, mine went into the shop last Tuesday, no phone call so called today for an update as I'm gasping to get out. Oh sorry, we missed the slot for your bike but it's in hand, bastards!!! :D

Nice one but check the details and paperwork when (or preferably before) you get the bike SBF are not unknown for spinning a yarn....

What sort of stuff should I be looking for?
incorrect mileage, service history etc or something more devious?

A friend bought a bike there, they stated it had service history, past mots & receipts. Nothing was handed over when he collected the bike, he persued it for a while but eventually gave up although they did say they could get a new service book and stamp it up.

I have called in on occasion and they do have a good selection of bikes at a reasonable price (for a dealer) although quality of stock varies from mint to downright ropey and I certainly wouldn't buy a bike without personally checking it out along with associated paperwork

Ah ok,
I went down an had a look at the bike last week and although it's not mint, it's what I'm happy with for a 14 year old bike.
I've already checked out the previous MOTs online and it seems to have a recurring issue with front fork seals (failed one year, weeping the next, so probably just wiped the stanchions and re moted it) but I'm aware of it so I'll keep an eye on it and get the warranty to handle it or just get them done myself.

I didn't check the service book whilst I was there but the sales guy read out the history to me over the phone, as long as the book has the 9 quoted stamps in when I pick it up I'll be happy.

Your right about the selection, I've never seen so many bikes in one room....
Price wise it's not the cheapest I could have had with that spec or mileage but for a dealer it's not a bad price at all.

Cost effective, mpg, comfort, good for commuting bla bla bla that's all for the cagers. Bikes are about what you want and what floats your boat, even if it means it's a bit pricey, not practical or just doesn't make sense; you've seen the bike you want and went for it. :)
