I've even thought about drilling and tapping a small M6 hole straight down against the starter bolts, but there's not enough meat for that. ;)
Apparently there was enough meat, as that's exactly what they ended up doing, they said.

It's also got a new (well, second hand) flywheel, obviously a new starter, and while he was in there some new crankshaft seals front & back which needed doing anyway, and other fresh seals where appropriate.

Should be good for another 120k miles?

So tick, ish.

Wednesday I get to pick it up again. :sBo_bouncing: :sBo_bouncing: :sBo_bouncing: :cool-0014:

Good to hear!

I wonder if I should follow you in choosing an old Airhead as the prime mover.

Lovely looking example, completely original it seems. Bit steep pricewise, but then again, in that sort of nick... How many miles does it have on it?

Mine will get a bit of a makeover when I can find the time. I've got the new red bullbar in the shed, the white fairing parts, and some new rubber waiting to go on. And I do intend to wash it sometime soon, honest. :rolleyes2:

Ooh. That's low. That should give you a while before the expensive bits start to go wrong around the 80-100k km range.

Tomorrow I get to spend 3.5 hours on public transport, in bike boots. Lovely.

But then I get to ride home again, wheeeee. \o/

It's only been 3 weeks, I'm such an addict.

Before you know it you will be reunited. I've just had an old R100S in the garage tonight for a look over. Nice bike with a few issues and suffering from a lack of maintenance but it will come good in the end.

Oh that's not bad.

And well, reunited indeed.

200 km of motorway with a mean crosswind is a good way to deal with having gone a bit soft from 3 weeks of public transport. ;)

But, yeah. Back on the bike. And true to form, it threw a strop as soon as I started it, idling on one pot, but that's just to say it missed me or something. Purring like a kitten once warmed up. :)

Right. Now bring on summer.
