Well that suggest another problem then because there was no way it was starting. I even tried bump starting. I suspect the kill switch, but I cannot fathom how it works as only one wire runs to it.Boris said:Assuming its magneto ignition It will still start and run without a rectifier fitted even with a flat battery. I'm not suggesting Molly uses it but you should be able to get it going. You may well have just found something that was about to fail
Only has 1988 and onwards models online. But I might call and ask.outrunner said:Chris, have a look here. I have used them before (for Honda stuff) and service is very good.

Have emailed Yambits as they don't list the part and close at 4.30. Fowlers don't do Yamaha.Lutin said:

It might be that the kill switch either connects, or disconnects, the one wire to earth (via the handlebars). Bit of an odd way to do it mind as there would have to be an earth connection from the forks to the frame or the current would go through the head bearings - not good.

Are we looking at the same Fowlers? No Yamaha listed in the parts section either in the list on the left of logos or in the Search by specifying your bike.Lutin said:Whealie said:Fowlers don't do Yamaha.
Well, that's a bit weird as it's the second manufacturer they list after Honda. Very strange.
