As bove the bke from 2005 -present with nissin master cylinders are being recalled due to brake hoses absorbing moisture and the moisure is removing a protective layer in the master cylinder which can cause brake fade. The owners book does say brake fluid has to be changed every 2 years but people don't do it. The hand book on the new bikes (i've seenone for the GSXR1000) states brake hoses must now be changed at 2 years. I know my local dealer is saying it shouldn't be a warranty claim as the owners aren't changing the fluid. Honda and Yamaha agree with that as some of there bikes use the same master cylinders and they haven't issued a recall.

From the recalluk site

'What Should Suzuki GSX R1000 Motorcycle Owners Do?
If you have, or believe you may have, one of the affected Suzuki GSX R1000 motorcycles then please contact your local dealer.'

. . . . . . . . or scrap it and buy a proper bike.

Like what???? Honda and Yamaha use the same parts and it covers the whole Suzuki range. You can't blame the bike's if the owners are too thick to read the owners hand book or too stupid to take it in.
