Came across this fitting tribute to Ali

You may or may not know that Ali, the genial guy who helped out at the Applecross Inn sadly lost his life to the sea recently.
I met Ali many times and always found him to be hugely entertaining and a very knowledgeable man, he will be a great loss to the community.
Last time I met him was when the wife and I popped in for lunch earlier on in the year. We hadn't planned on stopping but an unplanned wheelie on the last bend on the Beallach ( different story ! ) made me try to pacify her slightly, hence the late arrival for lunch.
We were just placing our order and getting the craic with Ali when the fire alarm went off
Ali raised his eyebrows up in disbelief and said we had better go outside, no sense of urgency at all, in fact he called us back to take our drinks outside :D
What a guy.

Anyways, the youtube video link of Ali in the article, along with the E bike is very fitting, strange to think we will never hear his voice again. I never knew about his blogs previously but I have looked at them now and realise what an articulate man he was.

The village will miss him at Hogmanay, a very poignant time for them I would imagine.
