'Tis blowing a howling gale here but not having as much rain as I thought we might have.

How's it with you?

Very strong winds here over on the East coast. It's taking the roof off the new shitty vertical pier... So not all bad then! :D

That's the one. I don't think I've spoken to a single person that has said they like it.

The army are currently deployed on flood alert to a village about five miles from me on, they say the worst will hit at 5:00 to 6:00 this evening

Yes! It's uncharacteristically warm. +6c today and sunny. Great riding weather - but weird!

Very very wet here. The shoot I was supposed to be beating on was cancelled, but not until we had had bacon and egg butties. The flood control barriers are in operation on the river wyre at Garstang flooding keeping the worst back in a huge flood basin. I walked down to see it and get some pics (on FB, I will post here when uploaded properly). Its quite a sight. The road outside our house has flooded for he first time ever - it will just a blocked drain but drivers seem to take great delight in speeding through it and spraying water right up the drive. I will have no soil left and the driveway blocks are all even wobbler now. :(

Affected, no not really in the grand scheme of things. I am sure there are some people very badly affected. In fact its on the news now: Keswick cut off and floods in Hawick (Andy??)

edit, one more - the flood outside our house. Ours is one towards the camera from the whit rendered house (behind the conifer) and the flood is right at the bottom of the drive half way up the pavement. There's a grid there but it must be slow flowing. I have reported it but I am sure it will be on "maybe, perhaps, if we get round to it tomorrow (never comes) file"

Wow Austin - that looks really nasty. I hope you and everyone one else stays safe.

Jeez, 9am and it's still pouring down, although judging by the standing water it's eased off a bit overnight. The flood barrier scheme looks to have been overwhelmed and Local Reports coming through of wide scale inundations and flooding around garstang and villages downstream - many abandoned cars, flooded property and roads closed. 2months rain in 24 hours! Thankfully No reports of loss of life yet.

Worse in Cumbria and the borders I believe. Having been flooded a couple of times when I lived with parents it is a very unpleasant thing. It takes months to clear up and dry out the house.

Was out on the Beemer today , no issues apart from a broon trooser moment when I hit some damp leaves on white markings whilst winding the beast up.

My fault, too much wellie at the wrong moment

Hope Andy's Zimmer frame isn't getting too rusty :D

Sorry for your suffering folks. Meanwhile, we continue with the absurdly mild, but..................

I live on Overcliff Road, near Hilly Fields. I look down on all you flood victims (mind you I still have to pay to subsidise your insurance and the building of your flood defences).

This one had me laughing, it's worth watching through. :D
