Just had the first weekend of sun, No rain or wind. So thought Bike out of Garage and go for a ride. But no full failure of the battery, tried charging for an hour no luck so boosted it of the van.
Got to cardiff stopped the bike and bang no battery, managed to get s boost and road home, when I got home checked out battery and found several cells dead. Checked the date on the battery was from 8/2010. Three and a half years of life any one else have ghis problem with batteries.

I think Austrian special agents followed us and took out our batteries as mine is dead too.
I am now on my 3rd on my '09 done 53000 miles

I believe that the original battery's still on my TA (2004), and, touch wood, it's still going strong . (28,000ish miles). BMWs are reputed to have "generous" alternator capacity .... (unlike the TA :) ). Do the Panzers charge at too high a rate, perhaps?

Got an odyssey pc680 or whatever in mine, that's been going for just over 4 years. Stuck it in new years eve, 2009. Still working fine. Capacity is a bit down when it's below zero out, but that's to be expected... Happy with it.

Oh dear! the tigers are regulary quoted as having the highest capacity of all this class of vehicle, does this mean I'm destined for early battery failure.......I've not read any reports on it thus far c~n

I bought my GSA at exactly 2 years old and it had a new battery fitted. Exactly two years later it suddenly packed up and I replaced it again so it seems two years is the going rate on the big GS. I suppose I should brace myself for another purchase this May as the bike will be six years old then.

After posting this curiosity took over and I thought I check the GSA as it hasn't run for about 2 months. It seems work and the weather had conspired against me and I hadn't been out on it since before Christmas.

Anyway I trotted out to the garage and it started :)

Hopefully this battery will last a bit longer that the previous two OEM ones

6 year old Kawasaki Versys still on the original battery. 30,000 miles spot lights, heated grips acc. socket.
Now I've posted this it's going to die.
