How and when do you want paying Andy?

Sorry, I should have put that information in the first post, just pay me when you arrive. I am the grumpy looking old guy with a silver BMW f650gs twin. In fact I will edit the first post now. :thumbsupanim:

Put my name on the list Andy. It's a brilliant ride from mine up to Kelso through Newcastleton, I could ride that road everyday and not get bored of it :D

I wonder what the road is like since the flooding, cracking road would be shame if there was any significant damage.

I'll have a run over there one weekend and find out. For the most part (Cannonbie to Bonchester Bridge) the road is more at risk of getting ruined by the sheer number and speed of the logging trucks than by 'natural causes'.

I would love to go to the National, enjoy the adventure of a ride up there and be amongst my friends, but it's too far for me unfortunately. If It is possible for someone to offer me a pillion lift there however, I would be delighted to join in the adventure, please?

Thanks

Meesh xx

We were up and around the Scottish Borders yesterday and we both think it has the best biking roads in the UK. Rideouts from the rally site are going to be great. B6399 from Newcastleton to Hawick - freshly surfaced for much of its length, twisty and 4 cars in about 20 miles of open border country: B711 from Hawick to St Mary's loch crosses open hill country then forested areas, tight and twisty in places then fast and open: its awesome :). A708 from St Mary's Loch to Moffat - I have never had so much air on my bike there are so many peaks, crests to lift the front wheel off with troughs to challenge your suspension and twists and turns its a real rollercoaster.

For another trip I have in mind a coast to coast to coast: from Holy island to Galloway (day 1) and back (day 2). I reckon it would be the ultimate "B road blast".

Oh and it looks like we will be able come to the national this year. Add us to the list Andy.

Name added Austin, was up at St Marys Loch myself yesterday but obviously later than you.

PS. Stop telling everyone about the roads up here, don't want any traffic to spoil things. ;)
