It's a dirty subject but someone's got to ask. :D
The forum costs around £50 per month to run and I wondered how people feel about contributing towards that cost via a voluntary membership scheme.
I could affiliate us with MAG so that we're putting something back in to biking as part of say an annual £10 contribution.
What do people think?

Yep, a Tenner is fine by me.

When we did this on XRV didn't that trigger only subscribed members having access to parts of the forum or is MAG membership enough (what are we getting as a group and/or as individuals anyway).

I think I just want to keep it simple. So if you contribute great if you don't never mind.
We'll see how it works.
I'm just trying to get a contribution to costs really.
I'll probably do a badge or something like that for those that do contribute.

It just comes back to the fact that the forum costs hard cash to run every month and I need to be commercial about it. However I knew what I was getting myself in to so whatever the contribution it doesn't matter.

Dave Barrie on the RDclub has setup memberships using this , i dont know the in and outs of how it works exactly or costs , but it means money gets collected via paypal , i do hve access to the workings end as a mod on that forum and it seems pretty simple , but depends a lot on how many members you are gonna have i suppose we have in excess of 550 on it

We're going to be moving to xenforo soon so I'll be looking at we use with that.
