That stupid cow selling `POLITE` hi-viz police look-a-like gear, is still boiling my piss!
I remember a discussion taking place about that and the view from a couple of serving coppers was if the purpose of the gear was to give the impression that the wearer was a policeman (regardless of what it actually said) then they could be done for impersonating the police. In the same vain it was felt if one put "The POLICE) on a piece of gear in a style and font similar to that worn by the police and tried to claim you were paying homage to the band of the same name you would also get done.
A stripper was done for impersonating an officer in Aberdeen for simply having a police type uniform with the word STRIPPER on it. He was also done for carrying an plastic truncheon as an an offensive weapon. Consequently overturned when common sense prevailed.
