Me and a mate went for a ride out yesterday to the Uffington White Horse and local area. We stopped at a pub I've been to a few times and proceeded to drink a pint of coke in the beer garden, enjoying the sun and talking bikes.
Then this guy walks out of the pub with a lady (who turns out to be famous herself) and they get into the car parked next to our bikes. My mate spotted him first. When I looked I couldn't believe it. The lady must of heard my mate say his name as she kept looking at us, probably waiting for the inevitable rush towards him for autographs! He was literally 5 feet away.
We decided not to say anything. When he got in the passenger seat of the car, she must have mentioned that we knew who he was and he looked over and gave us a big smile. Probably appreciating the fact we left him alone and off they went. Probably back to their house which is nearby!
The guy was the one and only PETE TOWNSHEND of The Who!!!!!
The lady was his partner Rachel Fuller.
My mate joked if he had a Vespa or Lambretta he would have got the tank signed lol...
