This is XS904. Still used to wake up the neighbours at Bruntingthorpe occasionally. ZA447 Tornado GR4 XH558 at Coventry Inside Concorde G-BOAF @ Heathrow Rob
Dammit. I knew I should have checked. I remembered they were both Hawkers. Mind unlike some I wasn't around when they were both used in anger.
Not the whole aircraft, but I like engines ................................. It's amazing what you can find in polytunnels ! :wales-emoticon-vlag:
Some old crappy ones... I like the interaction between the kid and the dog. Lovely lovely radials - I got buzzed by this thing taking off when I left the airshow. Came right over my head at treetop level. F16 solo demo And the business end on one of those The ones I didn't get a pic of were the helicopters during the Airfield Attack demo. Couple of Apaches and Chinooks coming in low at clipping-the-treetops level. I got those while I was still riding towards the airfield. That's a lot of noise & attitude to sneak up on you from behind a line of trees. Nearly fell off the bike!
These flew over the house in 2011: don't know where they were headed for. Made a change from the usual hovering police helicopter! Apologies for the quality....my old Fuji bridge camera at full stretch :marin-simpson:
I think you're right! Isn't it a bit distracting for the pilots to have those women in their line-of-sight? I'd rather be distracted by them than a pair of furry dice, though :wales-emoticon-vlag:
Look like the "Crunchie" Stearman biplanes used for wing walking displays at airshows, etc. edit. Looks like I have been beaten to it, but they did fly in Crunchie colours at one time. Andy.
Not great photo's but the Merlins and seakings were doing some sort of training yesterday and kept flying over my house, however everytime i got the camera they either went out over the coast or were too far away. These photo's were taken with them miles away with my 150-500 lens but it was a bugger holding it still while you line up and take the shots Last Summer they were filming the F1 Powerboats in Penzance and i got these couple of shots
Re: Aircraft Concorde first & last flight I worked at Filton so saw the first and last flights of the UK Concorde. At the time of first flight I was in the final year of my apprenticeship in Flight Test, we had to work all over the Easter hols prior to first flight. For the final landing I was near my retirement and working in what had been the Guided Weapons Division but was then a multi national company.
Still the finest aircraft ever built, shame they stopped it flying. Have they taken the runway up at Filton now? On a more positive note, XS452 returned to flight last month. SA CAA have approved it and with luck they will get the PfA cert for taking passengers up. Might get to see 60,000ft and mach 2 after all! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Got a couple more MIGs from the DDR: And this old banger: Which could pull quite tight turns :vomit-1: Good view, though: I should still have a clip of the starting procedure for that one somewhere... Chug, chug, chug, and right when you think it isn't gonna make it it fires up in a big cloud of smoke. Lovely little deathtrap.
Antonov 2T bi-plane, seems you were right. http://aviation-safety.net/database/rec ... 20130810-0 Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Huh. Didn't do that when I went on it. (Which is good, because there's a forest instead of a field behind that runway.)
