So, Uncle Jesse was waiting with the consignment for us to take.

    We got ready to go.

We made it to the border where Bo and Luke were waiting.

We remembered meeting Daisy once before...

    And there she was!!!

It was a tiring route, but three of us made it right to the end!

The gathering of the masses, in readiness of the off.

Many thanks Dave for organising & the assembled throng for making it happen, in my locality but some new lanes uncovered.

Seven of us set out from Newport and made it to the Steel Horse Cafe. By the time we reached The Skirrid Inn, the Feds had nabbed three riders and a pillion. They're probably in Sing Sing now.

That left four of us to cross the Gospel Pass. Unfortunately one more joined The Dearly Departed on the outskirts of Hay, so just three of us made it to the border.

For the record, the route should have been as follows. The items in bold should be sufficient for setting up a SatNav:

From Toby Carvery, Royal Oak Hill (B4236), Newport NP19 9FL.
Head up Royal Oak Hill (B4236) and follow Belmot Hill main road down towards river.
At T-junction, turn right (B4596) over bridge into Caerleon. Follow main road around one-way system.
At mini roundabout, go straight over to Usk Rd signposted Usk.
After 1 mile, bear right signposted Llanhennock, then right again signposted Tredunnock past The Grannary, Llanhennock, Caerleon NP18 1LU.
Continue along lane down to Newbridge on Usk NP15 1LY.
At T-junction, turn right alongside A449 through Kemeys Inferior.
Before going under A449 flyover, turn left (past blocked slip-road).
At T-junction, turn left briefly along Old Roman Road.
Up slope, turn left onto Coed y Caerau Lane. (Note: Junction is just past a blind corner.)
At ‘dead end’ sign, turn right down Caerlicken Lane.
    At T-junction NP18 2GG, turn left (eastwards) along A48 for 2 miles
[I took the wrong road at this point, and we missed out the optional run up the twisty, gravely road.]
At Rock and Fountain Inn, Llanvaches Lane, Penhow NP26 3AD, turn left onto Pike Road.
At 1 Pike Cottages, Llanvaches, NP26 3BE, bear left.
    (Ignore side road to Whitebrook.)
Go through Llanvaches village, and remain on Rectory Lane/ Millbrook Lane.
(Optional section NP26 3AZ: When in sight of Wentwood Reservoir damn, optional run up and down twisty, gravely side road.)
Back along Millbrook Lane, at T-junction old Usk Road, turn left up hill.

(Optional section Cadira Beeches NP15 1NA: Off-road through Wentwood, turn right and meet at bottom of hill.)
Continue under A449 and through Llanllywel, into Usk.
On entering Usk, bear right onto Church Street (to avoid No Entry ahead), then bear left onto Priory Street and straight through Tywyn Square past the Nags Head NP15 1BH.
At T-junction (A472) turn left then right onto Porthycarne Street (B4598) in the direction of Abergavenny.
Continue up B4598 to Steel Horse Café, Llanvihangel Gobion, NP7 9AY.
From Steel Horse Café, cross straight over main road (B4598) and head up narrow lane.
Continue up lane to T-junction. Turn right towards Coed Morgan.
At white house on left, Mayfield, Coed Morgan, NP7 9UL, turn left.
After ½ mile, turn right up narrow lane.
At T-junction, turn left into Llanddewi Rhydderch, NP7 9TR, and follow road past village green curving right.
At 200 m past village green, turn right up lane (small blue cycle route sign).
At T-junction White Swan, NP7 8SD, turn left briefly along B4233.
Around 50 m, turn first right at blue “Unsuitable for heavy goods vehicles” sign.
Bear left at Holstein, NP7 8BW (care) and continue to end.
At T-junction, turn left along Elms Lane.
At T-junction, bear right past Blossom Park camping.
At T-junction, turn left briefly along Old Ross Road, B4521.
Around 200 m, turn first right (brown Craft Centre sign).
Turn right (another brown Craft Centre sign) into New Ct Lane, NP7 8AU.
    Up hill bear left.
    At T-junction, bear right NP7 8EN.
(Bear left ignoring Dead End sign on right.)
At T-junction, turn right over Hill Street, NP7 8EL.
    At T-junction, turn left NP7 8EG.
At T-junction, turn left and return to A465.
Turn left briefly along A465 and immediately right into Llanvihangel Crucorney.
At Skirrid Mount Inn, Llanvihangel Crucorney, NP7 8DH, turn towards Cwmyoy.
Go past Cwmyoy, Llanthony and Capel-y-Fin then over Gospel Pass and down to Hay on Wye.
At T-junction turn right on Church Street, B4350, into Hay on Wye.
Just past Hay Cinema Bookshop, bear right (B4348) following signs for Oxford Road Car Park, HR3 5AJ.
