NC 500 - The Wrong Way Round

I cant be arsed to read through the two threads about this so remind me what's happening Friday and Sunday accommodation wise. Camping? Where, do we need to book? Are we each making our arrangements? Or what?

I have got that Saturday is camping at Durness - I assume Sangosands.

No need to book anywhere my man.

Stay at mine, you can either blag a spare bed, doss out on the floor or camp in my back garden, I'll leave the back door open for any, ahem, emergencies. :D
i was thinking first bed dibs should go to Mr and Mrs Stuart  , I have three spare bedrooms, the rest of you can fight for them

So, just turn up at mine, I'll pm you the post code later on and yer sorted :cool2:
I'm just down the hill from Culloden Battlefield, so easy to find.

I have booked the camp site at Durness en masse, no worries, just pay on the day

Brill John that sounds perfect. I like my bacon butties on toasted bread, a smear of butter and bit of tomato sauce :thumbsupanim: The german one is currently planning to bunk at mine on Thursday night and I dare say we may meet up with one or two others making their way up the m6/m74 on Friday morning. So expect a large arrival mid-late afternoon. Hopefully I will be in front so can lead the charge to the bedrooms. :eekicon:

Was thinking of coming over day before but it sounds like you will have the house full up.

Has the breakfast orders started????

Remember to book some decent weather!!

Cheers for pulling together.

My lad Dave will be on a DR350 but that is faster

I'm intending coming up with the DRZ400

Will that be the slowest bike on the run?

When are you setting off Paul ;) IIRC a ride down from Northumberland was enough on a DR350 and that was a fit young lad too :p

I could say whatever Andy's riding. But I won't, as that would be mean. ;)

Could be the truth, but still mean. ;) I used to like you and tell people what a great guy you were. :mockery22:

Well, I did say "I could say....."

And it was too much of a temptation to resist to be honest. :D

John, sorry but I will not be doing the run as I have just found out I will be otherwise engaged on that weekend. :(

Shame mate
You okay?

Yes, I am OK, just some family [strikethrough]shit[/strikethrough] thing I am supposed to attend. Truth be known I would rather be riding my bike, perhaps with a little bit of wrangling I might be able to get out of it but thought I had better notify John in case I can't manage it.

Andy.

Work's hectic just now and those close to me know I'm fighting demons in my personal life just now but I will try my utmost to be there! I might come up to John's on Friday night for a blether, then return fully loaded for the weekend sat morning! Bring it on! Lo!!

Good on yah Jim. It would be great to see you. A bit of blokey bike talk and a good ride has got to be a good thing.

Oy, skirt wearer . . . . . . wot time you planning on kick starting this jolly on the Saturday . . . . . . just so's I know wot time to set my alarm for!

And have you done a "shake-down" on yer wheels since fitting the repaired / replacement shocks?

Talk soon . . . . . hopefully :D

Austin,

Those riders were nailed on the Achnasheen section which is always well policed cos it's got luverly loooooong straight bits with only a few access and no road junctions onto it.

Too be honest, I think they deserved to get nailed for thrapping their machines there. If you cast yer view out from the speedo / cockpit, you can see for nigh on a mile, spotting parked vehicles well in advance . . . . . unless of course the feckers are behind you in an un-marked Audi (said car normally wearing a central belt registration - SF, SE, SG) :eekicon:

Even Lowflyer knows not to be too "enthusiastic" on that section of road ;) :rolleyes2: :thumbsupanim: . That said, I did watch him test my last Vara 1000 down a section of that road . . . . . from the seat of his wheezing AT :rolleyes2:

Unfortunately Mrs D will not be attending the event, I thought she was being a little enthusiastic when I mentioned it, not having been on 2 wheels for I think 2-3 years. We had a weekend away on the Wing and she realised that the 300 miles we did over 2 days was a little more sedate than the required 1500 miles over 4 / 4.5 days.
I will update by the weekend on my attendance as work & homelife have stepped up a gear for some reason
