What laptop would you recommend

Sounds as though it's time for a new one, but with a bit of luck you should be able to recover the pictures, and anything else you value, from the hard-drive by putting the drive into an external caddy and linking it to another PC via USB. As long as the old hard drive itself hasn't died, you should be able to just copy the files onto the new machine, burn them to DVD or whatever.

Not wishing to rub salt into the wounds, but Novatech have a nice Toshiba external 500GB disk on sale for £26.99.

A phrase involving doors, stables and horses comes to mind. ;)

Laptop still dead :( bought an external hard drive cradle/ holder thingy, plan to remove the hd from the laptop and i should be able to copy my files, or so i'm being told :mockery17:

Seen this come up on Amazon deals then after some digging seen a i5 with separate graphics memory which matches the spec DC advised, any reason not to? Damn just noticed it a used one :(

Cheers
