We looked at them at the NEC, look loads of fun

I reckon so.

Yamaha are normally quite imaginitive (for a jap manufacturer) and it would fill the gap between the 660 & 1200. Although I'm surprised they havent used the tdm motor in something else.

Is the MT07 a twin derived from the MT09 motor ....... or is the MT09 motor derived from the TDM ?
Whatever, I suspect Yam would have a ready-made market for a mid-size adventure bike with either/both the MT07 twin / MT09 triple ...... particularly given the age and comparative (perceived) unsophisticated-ness of the 660 single in their current small adventure bike.

I don't think I've ever owned a road going Yam and I don't know if I ever will. I did have a TY175 trials bike years ago and I do have a fantastic Yamaha Saxophone, but there is just something about the marque that just doesn't appeal to me. The bike looks nice but I wouldn't buy one. I've no idea why though. Probably some deep seated prejudice and like so many prejudices they have no basis in fact. The're just there.
